The History of Argentine Football

Football was introduced to Argentina in the latter half of the 19th century, as in many other parts of the world, by the British immigrants in Buenos Aires, numbering round 40,000 people, along with rugby union and other sports.

In the 1930 Fifa World Cup, the world turned to South America for the first Fotball World Cup, held inUruguay, and Argentina had an important role, losing to the host country in the final match. A year later, football was professionalized, and was already the most popular sport. Since then, football kept gaining popularity, and Argentina became a synonym with football around the world.

Many great players abandoned Argentina to go to better paying leagues such as the Spanish, Italian and the English. Raimundo Orsi, Alfredo Di Stéfano, Omar Sivori, Mario Kempes, Diego Maradona, Gabriel Batistuta, and Juan Román Riquelme are just a few examples of the many Argentine footballers who have left the country to become famous in Europe.

Late in the 20th century women started practicing the sport in the amateur level, leading to the creation of the Argentina women's national football team, which participates in the Sudamericano Femenino since its creation in 1991.

They also qualified for and participated in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2003.

Superclásico is a title most commonly used to describe the football game between Buenos Aires rivals River Plate and Boca Juniors. It derives from the Spanish usage of "clásico" to mean derby and the prefix super is used because Boca and River are the two most popular and successful teams in Argentine Football. And, according to some statistics, comendering more than 70 percent of all Argentine football fans between them. It's the most important local derby in Argentina.

______________V O L L E Y B A L L

In 1895, William G. Morgan, an instructor at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Holyoke, Mass., decided to blend elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball to create a game for his classes of businessmen which would demand less physical contact than basketball. He created the game of Volleyball (at that time called mintonette). Morgan borrowed the net from tennis, and raised it 6 feet 6 inches above the floor, just above the average man's head.
During a demonstration game, someone remarked to Morgan that the players seemed to be volleying the ball back and forth over the net, and perhaps "volleyball" would be a more descriptive name for the sport. On July 7, 1896 at Springfield College the first game of "volleyball" was played.

Volleyball is an olympic team sport in which two teams of six active players, separated by a high net, each try to score points against one another by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules

______________________T H E R U L E S

The rules of the volleyball are extensive, but in general, play proceeds as follows:

Each team consists of six players

Points are scored by grounding the ball on the opponents' court, or when the opponent commits a fault.

The first team to reach 25 points wins the set and the first team to win three sets wins the match.

Teams can contact the ball no more than three times before the ball crosses the net, and consecutive contacts must be made by different players.

The ball is usually played with the hands or arms, but players can legally strike or push (short contact) the ball with any part of the body.

________________THE COURT

The game is played on a volleyball court 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, divided into two 9×9 m² halves by a one-meter wide net placed so that the top of the net is 2.43 meters above the center of the court for men's competition, and 2.24 meters for women's competition (these heights are varied for veterans and junior competitions). IN the second picture are shown the volleyball rotation

Snowboarding to the limit

Snowboarding to the limit

Snowboarding is a sport that involves descending a snow-covered slope on a snowboard attached to a participant's feet using a special boot set into a mounted binding. It is similar to skiing, but inspired by surfing and skateboarding.

The most common snowboarding's styles are: freeride, freestyle, and freecarve/race.

FrEeRiDe
It involves riding down any terrain available. Freeriding may include aerial tricks and jib tricks borrowed from freestyle, or deep carve turns more common in alpine snowboarding - utilizing whatever natural terrain the rider may encounter.

FrEsTyLe
This style incorporates the rider with man-made terrain features such as rails, boxes, handrails, jumps, half pipes, quarter pipes and a myriad of other features. The intent of freestyle is to use these terrain features to perform a number of aerial or jib tricks.

The majority of snowboard competitions concern this style of snowboarding.
This also includes halfpipe. Halfpipe or "pipe" is a trench-like half a tube made of snow. Boarders can do a countless number of tricks in the "pipe". Some may be rotations such as a 360, or an off axis spin like a "mctwist".

FrReEcArVe/RaCe

This often overlooked style of snowboarding focuses on carving and racing. Little or no jumping takes place in this discipline.

nO Boarding

No-boarding is a young sport that replaces traditional snowboard bindings with a knobbed polymer traction pad and a heavy-duty bungee rope, which transform a snowboard into a no-board. Without highbacks to lean on or straps to hold feet in place, the pad prevents slipping, and a firm grip on the rope keeps the board in place. Staying upright is like surfing: riders adapt to pitch and snow conditions by moving their feet and center of gravity.

Snowboarding Injuries - Snowboarder's Ankle

Snowboarder's Ankle ranks second in the top 5 Injuries in Snowboarding and Skiing. Snowboarder's Ankle refers to a fracture of the lateral process of the Talus bone, which is located on the outer side of the ankle, above the heel bone. This injury is fifteen times more common in snowboarders than in the general population, hence, this injury is often termed as Snowboarder's Ankle.

With this injury, a history of an ankle sprain from Snowboarding is common. Typically, there is pain at the back on the bony prominence on the outerside of the ankle, which can be extremely tender to touch. It is usually accompanied by swelling and bruising.

Snowboarding Injuries - Wrist Fractures

Falls are more common in Snowboarding. The natural response to a fall is to stretch out a hand to break the fall, and falls tend to occur more often in beginners. For this reason, Scaphoid fractures and Colles fractures of the wrist are a relatively common feature, with around 100,000 wrist fractures worldwide among snowboarders each year.

ScApHoId FrAcTuRe

The scaphoid is one of the eight small carpal bones that make up the wrist complex. The fracture of the scaphoid usually occurs following a fall onto an outstretched hand.

In the case of an acute fracture of the scaphoid, the wrist is immobilized in a plaster of paris for 6 weeks. Once the cast has been removed, the patient begins physiotherapy.

CoLlEs FrAcTuRe

The Colles fracture describes a fracture of the radius bone of the forearm, just above the wrist. The most common method of sustaining a Colles fracture is to fall on an outstretched hand.

Symptoms include a great deal of pain, a "dinner fork" deformity, swelling and an inability to use the wrist and hand.

The most common treatment is simply to put the forearm and wrist into a plaster of paris for a period of 6 weeks.

On Piste - Piste Etiquette, Guidelines, & Rules

1. Ski or snowboard under control and make sure you have enough control to be able to stop or avoid objects at will when needed. You can push your boundaries, but know your limit.

2. If you are overtaking another skier or snowboarder, it is your responsibility to avoid hitting the slower skier or rider. Take any abrupt movement of slower going people into account and make sure you have a clear picture of your surroundings at all times.

3. Do not stop, sit down or rest in the middle of the piste. If you plan to do any of them, make sure you are out of the general traffic and that other people can clearly see you.

4. When you are starting your run, give way to other skiers and snowboarders. Check your back and blind spot before entering your descent.

5. Always use supporting gear that will prevent your gear from sliding down the slope and potentially hitting other people.

6. Stick to the Rules and Piste Etiquette set out by the caretakers of the Snow Resort. Follow all Snow Resort Signs and do not enter closed trails.

7. Make sure to have a clear picture of the weather, Snowboarding Snow Conditions and the routes in the snow resort. Let those aspects dictate your Snowboarding.

8. Do not make Snowboard Jumps if you cannot see the landing site. Never ride hard into an unknown area.

9. If you are in any way involved in an accident, stay on the accident scene and offer any assistance. Report the accident to the patrol of the resort.

10. Never go Snowboarding Off Piste alone and stay in close contact with the people you are going off slope with.

11. If you want to take Snowboarding Pictures, be sure that you are not getting in the way of other riders.

Argentina's Country

This country is localized in South American, it constituted as a federation of 23 provinces. This place has about 40 millions de peoples, and it bordered by Bolivia (north), Brazil in the east, and Chile in the west.

HISTORY:

The first human presences in Argentina are located in the Patagonia (Piedra Museo, Santa Cruz). European explorers arrived in 1516. The Spain established a permanent colony on the site of Buenos Aires in 1580. From 1880 to 1916, Argentina enjoyed increasing prosperity.

CULTURE:

Argentine culture has been primarily informed and influenced by its European roots. Buenos Aires, considered by many its cultural capital, is often said to be the most European city in South America, as a result both of the prevalence of people of European descent and of conscious imitation of European styles in architecture. The other big influence is the gauchos and their traditional country lifestyle of self-reliance. Finally, indigenous American traditions (like mate tea drinking) have been absorbed into the greater cultural realm.

FOOD AND DRINK:

Argentine food is influenced by cuisine from Spain, Italy, Germany, France and other European countries, and many foods from those countries such as pasta, sausages, and desserts are common in the nation's diet. Argentina has a wide variety of staple foods, which include empanadas, a stuffed pastry; locro, a mixture of corn, beans, meat, bacon, onion, and gourd; and chorizo, a spicy sausage. Other popular items include Dulce de Leche and mate, Argentina's national beverage.

The Argentine barbecue, asado, is one of the most famous in the world and includes various types of meats, among them chorizo, sweetbread, chitterlings, and morcilla (blood sausage). Thin sandwiches, sandwiches de miga, are also popular. Argentines have the highest consumption of red meat in the world.

Since 1992 Argentina has invested over 650 million dollars to modernize the winery industry. The country is an important wine producer, rated fifth in the world, with the yearly per capita consumption of wine amongst the highest worldwide. (Malbec has become a representative variety from Argentina). Malbec grape, a discardable varietal in France (country of origin), has found in Province of Mendoza an ideal environment to successfully develop and turn itself into world's best Malbec. The city of Mendoza is one of the eight wine capitals of the world, and Mendoza accounts for 70% of the country total production (all varietals considered). "Wine tourism" is significant in the Province of Mendoza, with the impressive landscape of Cordillera de Los Andes and the highest peak in America, Mount Aconcagua, 6952 meters high, providing a very desirable destination for international tourism.

DUBAI

DUBAI

The Dubai way of life did not always base on oil and its profits. Dubai was originally a fishing settlement. Inhabitants lived by fishing, pearling, herding sheep and goats, and by the turn of the century was an important trading port. Trade expanded even as Dubai was under the British protectorate, and Dubai began to grow in merchant appeal. By the early 1900s, almost a quarter of the population was foreign. The population in the 1930s was 20,000, and of that, 2,000 were Persians, 1,000 Baluchis, many Indians and substantial communities from Bahrain, Kuwait and the Hasa province in eastern South Arabia. In 1954, the British established a political agency there as well. In 1971, the British withdrew and Dubai joined with Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Aiman, Umm Al Quwain, Fajairah and later Ras Al Khaimah to create the federation of the United Arab Emirates. Oil was discovered in 1966 and by 1969 Dubai exported its first shipment of oil. The success of this venture fuelled the rapid development.

Dubai worked to build up its infrastructure of transport facilities, schools, hospitals, tourism developments and other amenities of an advanced society.

Now, Dubai is a country with a good economy and all its inhabitants live well. Dubai is also well known for its great touristic places. Here you can find everything: good food, drink, jewels, 6 stars hotels, skyscraper, etc. As follows, see some pictures of this wonderful country.
